The ending of school..... and drinking blood

As Jenna's silver mustang pulled up, she looked around, seeing no Abagail. Her held breath released, making her feel better. She had taken a shortcut around the highway, just as she and Grace did on most days when they thought they were going to be late to school. Not many people knew about it and so the population of cars was low when she traveled. Brad and Matt must have still been on their way. Jenna drove into the garage, leaving enough space for the other two cars. Their garage was like most but just multiplied a few sizes due to the space that they liked to have and could afford. She then noticed another car. It was Hilda's mini cooper, recognized by the maid ad on the back. Jenna swept out of her car, feet first, onto the smooth floor. Purse in one hand, keys in the other, she jogged over to the front door, finding it unlocked. Hilda must be upstairs cleaning by the sound of a vaccumcleaner. Jenna just let her be, sitting down on the front porch swing to wait for everyone to arrive. Hopefully Hilda's scent wouldn't be a distraction to Abagail.

Brad sped through the streets first, with the silver car of Matt right behind him. He wasn't too worried about Grace; Mrs. Danils could be persistant, so she might be there for a while. He slowed his speed as he turned into the girls' driveway and pulled smoothly into their garage, seeing Jenna's silver mustang already here. Hm. He thought he and Matt would have beaten her here. Ah well, the girls had lived here longer than they had; tthey probably knew a shortcut here. Brad slid the keys out of the ignition and exited his car. It beeped as he pressed the lock button and walked away. He was so glad to be away from school; now he could hear his thoughts clearly, as well as his two companions. A strange car in their driveway caught his eye, and almost immediately he found another thought coming from inside the house. Questioningly, he walked around the house to find Jenna sitting on the porch swing. He sat down on the front step and peered up at her. "You know that you have a burgalar in your house, right?" he asked, humor back in his tone.

Matt raced right behind Brad. He wasn't trying to beat his friend this time; the both of them knew who would have won that anyway, so he went at a nice cruising speed of just over onehundred, flying past cars on his way. Though his mind was more thinking about something else. There was part of it that wanted to think about the fact that Loren had once again made his apperance here, and the other about the hunting lesson with Abigail. Regretfully, he chose the hunting lesson. Seemed like a less stressfull topic to him. He didn't think she'd take too kindly to animal blood at first; it would be hard to switch so suddenly. And having a werewolf boyfriend (ew) was probably pushing her more into this than anything else. Slowing to make the turn into the driveway, he spotted three cars in the garage. Instead of pulling in, he parked outside, pulling to the side so that he wasn't in the way. He knew two of them; Jenna's silver mustang and Brad's red and white one, but the other one he wasn't so sure about. Maybe it was Abigail's? Shrugging, he stepped out of his beloved car and strode over to where Jenna and Brad sat on the porch.

Jenna grinned at Brad's comment, seeing Matt walk up. "It's just Hilda," she said, shifting her golden eyes towards the upstairs balconies, "our maid." As if on cue, a rug started flapping on the railing of the balcony above them, dust filling the air above Brad. Jenna chuckled to herself, then noticing the sky. It was getting darker and darker, clouds starting to come again. The rain had ceased earlier on, allowing small amounts of sunlight to flow through the transparent clouds. Luckily school had ended early enough to where none of the humans saw their "diamond-skin".

Jenna stashed her keys in her purse, not feeling the need to keep them beside her. All of a sudden, Jenna wondered if Abagail knew what to wear. Jenna could easily replace any of her clothes, having enough money and carisma to convince the store clerks to allow her to buy another pair of whatever it was for a lower price, even if it was from Coach. None the less, Abagail could just borrow some of hers if needed.

Abigail ran to the house, feeling excited, anxious, unsure of what to expect or what she was going to do, but ready. A new determination to do this right ran thorugh her as drew nearer, the trees blurring to fast to determine which was which. She arrived at the house, to find that the vampires were already here and prepared, and she could smell a human, up in the house, which might make this lesson slightly more difficult, and definitely not comefortable for her.
"Hi everyone." She said, not feeling the need to call them by name. A quick headcount showed her that only three of the vampires were there, Jenna, Brad, and Matt. "Is everything okay? Where's Grace?" She asked, knowing that if a vampire was late, there was some kind of problem. It was almost impossible to hold back a vampire, much less a female, from being where they want to be, when they want to be. Maybe a werewolf could. She thought, and her mind took a turn to foccus on Nick, but she let herself fantasize for only a few moments. "So... Are we going to start or wait?"

Brad was just about to say something, when a mix of different emotions filled his head, marking the apperance of Abigail. Sure enough, she showed up not too long after. He chuckled inwardly at her thought about Nick, but didn't say anything for her sake. Instead, he stood. "Grace will be late, but she's coming," he assured her. At her next question he glanced down at the other two. "I guess we are ready. Jenna knows these woods better than any of us here, so I guess she'll lead," he decided, but turned to Jenna and smirked as he usually would. "Unless, of course, you don't want to."

Matt saw Brad's mouth open, but was confused when it closed again. His questions were answered when Abigail came to a halt in front of the group. Matt threw a glance at the sky. It was swirling into what could be a nasty storm later on, and the thunder was already booming inside. Little flashes of lightning could be seen above, though none of them touched the ground yet. "Hopefully it doesn't rain," he murmured quietly.

Jenna waited for Brad's reaction to her explanation and then saw a form emerge from the edge of the forest. Dark ruby red eyes met hers as she watched Abagail walk up. It looked like it had been a few days since she had last hunted. Jenna stood gracefully up from her sitting position on the white swing, leaving her purse on the front porch. Hilda would find it sooner or later. She listened to Brad's answers to Abagail's questions, ignoring his last teasing words. "There's usually a herd of moose that travel that way. There's a big feild that they like to settle down around. We should find them there," Jenna pointed to the west of the house, near the old well that was the marker to a trail, "We rarely see deer here and we would only be able to catch about one if we saw any."
She then happened to step off the porch and onto the sidewalk, hearing her heels tapping on the concrete. They easily slipped off of her feet, leaving her to go barefoot, which really wasn't a problem. "We better go before the rain problem gets worse," Jenna said, acknowledging Matt's comment. It wouldn't be the best thing to hunt in the rain, because the animals liked to shelter but it was still possible.

Abagail nodded at Jenna's suggestion, seeing her slip off her heels. Abagail looked down at her own feet, dirt-caked tennis shoes and all. She had found them in Nick's old closet, probley shoes that he wore before he could change. They fit a little big but were perfect for hunting. She led the way down to the trail, seeing the bright marker on a tree. A few scents came her way with the wind: the scents of stale animal blood scent, which didn't smell all that appealing, vampire, and human. Her mind was torn on which way to go. She choose the trail, not wanting to cause trouble. Her legs carried her at a normal vampire speed, excelling three times the normal human could go. She approached the feild slower, seeing in front of her, tons upon tons of wildlife. Moose lay under the trees, waiting for the rain to start to releive them from the heat. Birds and squirrels scampered around the oak trees and swarms of bugs lingered in the air. It was perfect for hunting. Abagail held herself back, wanting to wait for the others. Jenna came a few seconds later, her golden eyes scanning the meadow. They crouched down in the grass, in silent wait until it was time.

Brad didn't say anything else as he and Matt sped after the two. Brad sighed to himself, not even watching where he was going. He let his mindreading tell him where to go; following the thoughts of the others and hoping he wouldn't run into a tree. He had other things to think about. The most obvious one was Grace. It felt strange not having her here with him, even though they were apart for not very long now. Another big one was Loren. How dare he poke his nose in Brad's business again? It infuriated him. This had to be the fifth or so time that the two had run into each other. This one had yet to become nasty like the others, but he wasn't sure how long that would hold up. He found himself in a snarl as he kept running, and just then realized that he was out in the middle of the clearing where a moose herd was just beginning to panic. He cursed himself for not paying attention to where he was going and threw a quick glance back at the others before throwing himself at the closest moose. Great, he probably just ruined the whole training for Abigail. Maybe they could go deeper into the woods and find another herd. He could only hope; he was as sure as dead after this.

Matt followed behind Brad, and was worried for his friend. Brad looked dazed; like he was thinking deeply. And that was definately strange for him. Usually Brad was easy going and funny, but ever since Loren appeared he's been tense and thoughtful, a complete change for him. Maybe hunting would be good for him. Matt stopped when he saw Jenna and Abigail croughed in the bushes, but stared wide-eyed at Brad as he sped headlong into the herd. As Matt cought Brad's glance, he sighed. The moose were scattering quickly; they needed to act fast if they wanted to catch one. It looked like Brad already had one, so Matt exploded from the greenery to get another one. His feet barely touched the ground as he flew for the closest moose, this one just happening to be the bull. He hit it's side hard and he wouldn't doubt that if he had still been a human that the breath would have been knocked out of him. He flashed out his fangs and went straight for the neck, easily cutting into the flesh. The bull groaned and staggered a few feet before its front end dropped ito its knees. The two stayed like that for a moment, then it fell over, and it's eyes glazed over.

Abigail waited patiently beside Jenna for the boys to arrive, but she had to admit that the moose seemed a lot less apetizing than a feeble, helpless human. Horrified with herself, she shook the thought from her head and waited. She could hear the footsteps behind her, but looked up as one of them never stopped and instead launched himself right into the clearing. The moose, of course, panicked and ran everywhere. Brad seemed like he was exhausted, which was different from the first time she'd seen him. She hesitated for a moment, but when Matt lunged at one, Abigail's instincts came over her and she ran. This was definately different from hunting humans; they never panicked like this... Unless you totally blew it and they found out what you were. Her red eyes fixed on the closest female moose, and she grabbed on. Figuring that the neck was the way to go, she followed Matt's example and slashed it open. Her moose didn't go down quite as easy as his did; it bucked a bit and ran, trying to knock her off, but it finally succombed to it's wound and fell to the earth. Wrinkling her nose, she sunk her teeth into the animal and drained the lifeblood from it's body. It was no where near as satisfying as human blood, and she found that she had trouble stomaching it. But thoughts and images of Nick flashed in her mind and she dealt with it. What would he say if she failed? She had to do this for his sake.

Jenna laughed silently to herself, watching Brad run into the feild. It wasn't like him to mess up like that. From his facial expressions lately, it seemed like something was bothering him. Jenna woke up from her thinking to discover Abagail gone and already draining the blood from a moose. A buck came trampling towards her, about to run her down. She just stood there and watched it as it got closer and closer. At the last second, she extended her hand and whipped it at its neck. The moose went down, it's stomach moving up and down to try to get air. Jenna crushed it's right hoof first with her bare foot and then ended its life quickly with a bite, as to avoid its suffering. The animal blood left a pasty taste in her mouth, a displeasurable taste but reviving none the less. Her sences were awakened and her resistance strengthened. The darkness in her golden eyes was soon gone and her face looked brighter then ever. She glanced up to Abagail who looked like she was sick. Jenna jogged over, leaving the cold, dead moose body behind.

Abagail watched as the ground swayed before her. It made her feel kind of sick at first to drink animal blood. Human blood was so much more satisfying and it tasted like nothing else. Animal blood was.... just different. But her heart ran stronger than her stomach, telling her that she had to do this for the love of her life... Nick. She finaly balanced on steady feet, seeing the brunette vampire walking towards her. "How have you survived on just animal blood for this long?" she asked Jenna, a frown replacing her disgusted face.

(Gah, sorry; I had a huge post and right in the middle of it, my computer spazzed and shut everything down. T.T I'll try and make it again.)

Brad was actually havig trouble with his moose. Normally he'd finish it with no problem at all, but right now he wasn't focused. With a huff, he dug his heels into the ground and threw the animal to the earth. He quickly lowered and sank his teeth into it's neck, ending it's life quickly. While still drinking it's blood, he glanced up to see Abigail had already taken one down. The look on her face clearly told him that she didn't like it all that well, which is what he'd expected. Draining the last bit of blood out of his prey, his eyes regained their liquid golden color, and it chased the darkness from his eyes away. He difenately felt better after that, also. He stood slowly, regaining himself, then finally made his way to where Jenna and Abigail stood. He chuckled at her words. "It'll take some getting used to, and after a while it isn't that bad," he assured her.

Matt finished rather quickly with the buck. He raised and planted one hand on it's antlers, turning the head to get a better look at them. This must have been a pretty old one, by the size of it's antlers, and the bulk of it. His golden eyes caught a movement in the brush beside him, and he turned to see the last of the herd stop to watch for a moment. Once the predator saw them, they turned and bolted, aknowledging the death of their family. He sighed and turned his gaze on the trainee. Seems she didn't like the blood very much. He smiled and walked over, coming to a halt before her.

Abigail wrinkled her nose at Brad's responce, but didn't say anything else about it. She may not like it, but as long as Nick was happy she'd continue to do it. She couldn't imagine to come back to him a failure, so she'd deal with this. "Well it wasn't so hard," she finally said, looking up at the three. They seemed more lively now, and the darkness in their eyes had gone away and was replaced with a beautiful golden color. She imagined herself for a moment with golden eyes like them. For so long now she's had the blood red eyes of a murderer. "Are we going hunting again today?" she finally asked, not sure.

Jenna shrugged, noticing that her shirt was half-soaked with blood. Lovely. She looked into Abagail's eyes, seeing the red being taken over by a goldish tint. All of a sudden, Jenna felt a drop of water on her nose and felt it slide down her pale cheek. "Seems the weather has taken a turn for the worst," Jenna said, looking up. The dark clouds that had loomed in the horizan earlier that day were finally here. The shower had only just begun, "It looks like we might have to hunt again tommorow."

Disappointment showed on Abagail's face, "I better get back. I didn't bring a car and I don't want to be completely soaked before I get home." She checked over her clothes noticing only a few blood spots. Hopefully Nick wouldn't be disgusted with animal blood and rain. "Thanks for the hunt," she said, wishing that the weather hadn't caused her to have to go. Hunting with vegetarians would definatly help her to improve and be more close to Nick.

Matt nearly said something, but a drop of rain hit him square in the face. He instinctively looked up, only to be pelted with two more. Matt sighed, and returned his gaze to Jenna and Abigail. He only nodded when she said her thinks, and watched her leave. "Well what're we going to do now? I ahte the rain.." That wasn't entirely true; he did like the rain, he just didn't like being in the middle of it. and this storm looked like it could last for a while. "Abigail did good for her first hunt," he added. "She didn't seem to like it very much, but she did good."

Brad nodded also as Abigail left, thanking them for the hunt. When Matt asked the question, he thought for a moment. "I don't know about you two, but I need to get back. I haven't seen Tracer since this morning, and he's probably eaten my couch by now. I'm going to go, I'll catch you guys later." He held his hand up in a sort of wave, then turned and dashed for his car, rain splattering in his face the entire way.

(Wasn't really in the writing mood. xD)

Jenna waved her good-bye to Brad, the rain pelting down more than ever. She took Matt's hand, walking on her bare feet to the front porch. The wet grass was soothing to them as it washed away the remaints of the animal's blood. Jenna exhaled her breath. She was slightly worried about her adopted sister, and about Brad. He had seemed quite worried about her and perhaps frustrated that he didn't know what she would be doing instead that would be more important. Could their relationship wash away as easily as the blood on her feet?
Just then, she heard a door slam and saw Hilda's form emerge through the rain and into the garage. Her mini-cooper pulled out, the bright pink and lime green logo making everything else seem so dull. Jenna locked her fingers with Matt's, stepping onto the front porch. Finally, they had some time alone.

Matt followed Jenna's lead to her house, somehow enjoying the way the rain soaked his every being. By not his hair was plastered to his head, but some reamnants of his dry clothes still showed themselves. As they stepped onto the porch, he saw their maid's car pull out of the garage and drive away. Taking note that Brad's car was already gone, he finally realized that they were alone. His silver car, now sparkling with water droplets, remained stationary beside the garage, while her silver mustang was safe and dry inside. He grinned; they had common tastes. They both had the ability of invisibility, and their cars were both silver. Brad did a good job with her. Before he could do anything else, he turned to her and let their lips meet for the second time in what seemed like forever. Grinning, his body rippled, then disappeared, though he kept his hand in her's. "You said before that you wanted to experiment with the invisibility," he reminded her. "Now's your chance."

Jenna watched Matt's face as he saw Hilda go, and as he seemed to look at their cars for a moment. All of a sudden, she wished that she had had Brad's ability to hear what others were thinking. Before she could ask him, she felt his lips on hers. The kiss was short and sweet, and Jenna wished that it had lasted a lot longer. She wasn't going to let him leave her hanging with just that though. "You said before that you wanted to experiment with the invisibility," he reminded her. "Now's your chance." She grinned, her body fading fast. Her hand was still linked with his as she met her lips with his once more, this time putting her arms on his shoulders, her hands in his hair. She wanted this moment to last forever in her mind, and she was sure that it would.

Matt grinned and felt her wrap her arms around his head, her fingers in his wet hair and her lips on his. He didn't argue; he'd been wanting a moment like his for a while. He had to remember to thank Brad for introducing them. He raised his arms so that his hands were on her back, bringing her closer to him. Her scent was so delicate; it matched her well. She felt so small in his arms, he had to remind himself that he wouldn't break her. She was nearly as strong as he was in reality. The thunder and the sound of rain in the background only added to the effect. Matt could feel himself being sprayed lightly with the drizzle, even though they were under the security of the porch. He backed up, but kept his hold on her, and one hand scrambled for the door knob. He finally found it and led her inside, away from the dampness and into the security of her house.

Jenna felt Matt pull her inside the security of the house, the door closing with a creeeak. She ended the kiss reluctantly, keeping her arms on his shoulders and touching their foreheads. It wasn't a hurtful kind of way but more of a loving gesture. "Thanks," she murmured her appriation, her lips playing on the edge a smile. Her hair was starting to dry a little, keeping its straight form. Her poof was long gone, the bangs that had been pinned up falling on either side of her face. Jenna's golden eyes searched for his, but was reminded that they were still invisible.

Matt grinned, and lifted her slightly in the air, carrying her to the couch. He went down first with her on his chest. Here she really felt small, and he sort of liked that. Just because he felt like he was her protector; he wanted her to feel safe in his arms.

Jenna looked down at Matt from ontop of him. She regained visibility, wanting him to see that she was happy. Her smile was warm and pleasant, unlike her skin which was a blistering cold. She hoped that it wasn't affecting him. Leaning her head down, Jenna placed it on his hard shoulder. She found his hand, seeing the indent in the couch and started tracing the lines on it. "You do think that Brad and Grace will be ok," Jenna said something softly at last, "don't you?" She sometimes worried about her adopted-sister's daring personality. Jenna knew that her sister wouldn't have stayed at the school for this long unless she wanted to. Maybe the rain was keeping her.

Matt's eyes picked up Jenna's outline, and soon after her body became visible again; a happy smile formed on her face. It made her look even more beautiful, if that was possible. He returned her smile and his body rippled to become alive once again; visible and solid. He felt her delicate fingers tracing his hand, and her head as she rested it on his shoulder. He almost didn't hear her words that she spoke next, and the worry he had been feeling before returned. He sighed, thinking. "I hope so," he finally said. "But we can't really do anything about it; it's really up to them." He shook his head lightly, and his lip slightly curled, remembering the human drinker. "I can't believe he showed up again..." he growled. He sighed softly again and regained his relaxed posture. "Sorry," he murmured quietly, tightening his hold around her back slightly. "I'm sure they'll be fine."

Jenna liked how Matt could just relax her like he did. Her mind was turned off of Grace and Brad, no worry there anymore. Her thoughts were only on him. She set his hand down and laid her arms on his chest. Her eyes veered towards his now visible ones as she leaned her head in and touched her lips with his again. His calming scent enveloped her in a protective sheild. Even though she could fend for herself, it was nice having someone there to protect her. Her hands started to reach down and into his black hair, silently surprized that it was that soft after the hunt and the rain. She took back at what she had said first when when Grace and Brad were a couple. She wasn't any less free just because she was with Matt. Jenna felt more alive with him than she ever did in her 124 years of being a vampire.

Matt sighed contently as she rested her arms on his chest. Her weight was somewhat of a comfort to him, if that made sense. He was happy to have found someone that he could finally have a long relationship with. Sure he'd dated here and there, but none of them ever worked. Jenna was special to him, and she'd always be special to him no matter what happened. Suddenly he felt her lips atop his again and didn't resist; it felt right to him now. Natural. He felt her fingers in his damp black hair, twining and tangling themselves in it. He liked that feeling; it meant that she returned his emotions. She must have felt a bit awkward around Grace and Brad when they first met, but now she didn't have to. She had him. He'd remain at her side whenever she needed him. He pulled away so that he could whisper something to her, so quiet even a vampire might have trouble hearing it. "I love you, you know," he murmured, kissing the top of her forehead gently.

Jenna let Matt break away, to find that he was murmuring something in her ear. She barely made it out, but she could tell what he had whispered. Her heart was soaring with bliss but she calmed her delight to whisper something. "I have a secret too," Jenna confided softly, "I love you more than anything or anyone else." She looked into his eyes, wishing that this moment could have lasted forever. Jenna then rested her head on his chest once more, watching the rain patter on the window and slide down repeatedly. It lulled her sences and she knew that if she was a human, she would of probley fell into a serene sleep to all of this. Matt's sweet scent filling the air, the rain pattering on the window, and spending time with someone who truly loved her.

Matt grinned at her "secret," and let out another contended sigh, making Jenna rise and fall gently with the movement of his chest and stomach. "Gotta remember to thank Brad," he murmured quietly, humor in his voice. "I probably wouldn't have joined you guys at the movies if it wasn't for him." He thought for a moment about what the other two may be doing right now. He knew Brad was saving his couch from getting eaten by Tracer, but where was Grace? She'd been at school for forever, and that seemed odd to him. Maybe she finally went to Brad's place. He shrugged inwardly, wanting to enjoy this moment more. The wet and woody scent rolling off of the forest closeby was nearly overpowering, but it was welcome.

Jenna was about to agree when she heard a loud vibrating against the door. She frowned, grudingly getting off the couch and walking across the carpet to the door. She opened the front door, about to tell off whoever decided to ruin their peacefulness. Jenna looked out to see nothing but rain and fog. A light mist sprayed her in the face, making her look down to see her purse: Hilda had gone out the back door and hadn't seen it. She picked it up and brought it to the living room, digging around for her cell phone. One new message from Amazing Grace.

Jen, I know your probably freaking out about where I've been, but stop. Mrs. Daniels finally caught up to me today and wouldn't let me go until I convincivly feined interest in some stupid play.
Hope the lesson went well. Im at Brad's now. Hope your having a good time with Matt. See you later tonight.

Jenna sighed, knowing that there was more to it than that. She would somehow convince her to divulge what she had really been doing, one way or another. "Grace went to Brad's," Jenna spoke to Matt and then set her phone down on the couch.
